In addition to traditional sources of getting help specific to your school—for example tutoring by teaching assistants and consultation with your instructor during office hours—assistance may be available from the WebAssign help desk, named Ask Your Teacher. If enabled, you will see an Ask Your Teacher link at the end of an assignment.
Your instructor may also enable Extension Request. If enabled, you will see an Extension Request link at the end of an assignment.
Ask Your Teacher is a tutorial feature administered by your instructor. Your instructor will decide whether the Ask Your Teacher is available to your class.
If your instructor enables Ask Your Teacher, there will be a link at the end of your assignments.

If your instructor renames this tutorial feature, you will know the link by its placement at the end of your assignments.

Questions to Ask Your Teacher are always linked to an assignment. Clicking the Ask Your Teacher button displays a popup window for you to enter your question.

Please provide as much detail as you can about how you worked your problem, so that the instructor or tutor can provide useful advice. The length of time you must wait depends on the person assigned to answer Ask Your Teacher for your course. Ask your instructor if you have any concerns. Your question and replies to your question will be posted to the linked assignment.

If you would appreciate this feature, ask your instructor to enable Ask Your Teacher.
Also at the end of your assignments, you may see an Extension Request link. If you need more time or more submissions on an assignment, you will be able to request these with this link. There are two types of extension requests—manual and automatic. If your instructor disables all extension requests, you will not see an Extension Request link at the end of any of your assignments.
Your instructor may enable manual extension requests for all assignments, some assignment categories, or for none. If your instructor has enabled manual extension requests for a particular assignment and you click the Extension Request link, a message window pops up, allowing you to enter your message and click Submit. In the screen below, the instructor is allowing manual requests.

Until your instructor responds to your request, your assignment will display a link to your request and the information that your request has not been answered in the About this Assignment box.

If your instructor grants your request, the assignment will be displayed in your current assignments with a due date in the future.

If your instructor does not grant your request, the assignment will not show up in your current assignments and you will be able to see any comments from your instructor in the Extension Requests popup accessed from the About this Assignment box.
Your instructor may enable automatic extension requests for all assignments, for some assignment categories, or for none. If your instructor has enabled automatic extension requests for a particular assignment and you click the Extension Request link, a message window pops up, allowing you to Accept Automatic Extension. In the screens below, the instructor is allowing automatic requests but not allowing manual requests.

The manual tab shows the following:

You can click Accept Automatic Extension and begin working on the past due assignment or you can decide you do not agree to the terms. For example, if you see that for homework assignments, there will be a 5 point penalty for each automatic extension request, you may decide not to request one
