Welcome to the first quarterly WebAssign newsletter. We have created this
newsletter in response to requests by instructors who want to
be kept more informed about events, updates and new features in
WebAssign.
In this issue:
WebAssign Quarterly Newsletters
This newsletter is our latest effort to help keep our instructors
up to date on all the things that are constantly changing (and hopefully
improving!) within WebAssign. We intend to keep each one brief and
useful, highlighting new features and design changes as well as
plans for upcoming improvements.
If you do not wish to receive these communications
about once every 3 months, you may remove
your email address from our list.
If you have any suggestions
as to what you would like to see included in future newsletters
please do let us know about that as well!
All WebAssign newsletters will also be archived
on our website for future reference. A link for newsletters can
be found under the Customer Care section at www.WebAssign.net.
The new WebAssign GradeBook will be available
Saturday, April 3
After months of development
and testing, the new improved GradeBook is ready for unveiling.
A few of the highlights of this completely redesigned GradeBook:
- Unlimited
user-defined assignment categories
- A wizard
to make initial setup of your GradeBook fast and easy
- More
options and control over grade calculations and display
- Up-to-the
moment statistics including final averages and letter grades
- Ability
to upload a spreadsheet to serve as your WebAssign GradeBook
- Redesigned
student GradeBook with additional information and histograms
Your current GradeBook settings
will be maintained as we upgrade to the new GradeBook, so you will
not lose any work you have done in any of your classes.

2004 WebAssign Users Group Meeting
You are cordially invited to attend
the 5th annual WebAssign Users Group
Meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina on June 28-30, 2004.
The program (still under development) will include
hands on sessions covering new features and ideas, presentations
on creative and advanced uses of WebAssign, and a chance to give
feedback to the WebAssign staff. Let us know what you would like
to see incorporated into WebAssign next!
Space is very limited so please register
early. There is no registration fee for attending WAUG 2004.
HTML manual is online
By popular request our online
manual has been posted in HTML format on our site along with
a pdf of the entire manual.
This online manual is the best place to go for up-to-the-minute
information about new features in WebAssign. We will do our best
to keep this manual constantly updated as new features are made
available. We do plan to publish a fully revised print version of
the WebAssign manual at a future date.
Please report
any omissions, errors, or confusing points you find in the manual.
WebAssign Announce Mailing List
If you would like to hear about
new features as soon as they are available, the announce@webassign
mailing list is for you. In addition to the general
WebAssign
listserv which is a good place to ask and find answers
to all sorts of questions about WebAssign, we have just created
a private "What's New" listserv which will be used exclusively to
inform you about newly available and upcoming features.
Sign
up for this new list and you will be kept updated as things
happen!
While you're
at it, why not also sign up for the general WebAssign listserv.
Traffic on this list is moderate level, so don't worry that your
inbox will be swamped. We'd love to have you involved in the pedagogical
discussions that come up!
Coming Soon...

Please tell your friends!
WebAssign continues to grow primarily
through word of mouth. We hope that if you are happy with your experiences
with WebAssign that you will tell your friends and colleagues about
us. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to support
you in spreading the word by writing to us at support@webassign.net.
To all of our valuable customers, Thank you for
your business.
Until next time, best wishes
from all of us!
Sincerely,
The WebAssign Team
