Copy a Course

You can copy an existing course or section to create a new course. After you create the course, you can change the assignment schedule and add more sections if needed.

If you manage your K–12 course through NGLSync, see Copy Course in NGLSync.

This creates a new single section course with all of the scheduled assignments and many of the settings copied from the original section.

  1. Click Classes Create Class.

  2. Select Create a new course with no assignments and click Continue.

  3. Enter a Course Number and Course Title.

If you are creating a multisection course, enter a number or title for your first section in Section.

  4. Select the primary Instructor.

  5. Select how to manage the course roster.

  6. Set the Term, Start Date, and End Date.

  7. Set when the Class Meets or select No scheduled class meetings.

  8. Select the primary Textbook for the course.

After you create a course, you cannot change the primary textbook.

    1. Select a discipline to see the available textbooks.

    2. To filter the list of textbooks, type part of the textbook author, title, publisher, or edition.

    3. Select Enable Personal Study Plan if the feature is available for your textbook.

    4. Select the check box certifying your use of the selected textbook in your class.

    5. Add free additional content to your course.

The availability of these resources varies by discipline.

If you are not using a textbook, select No Textbook.

  9. If your textbook includes pre-made Course Pack assignments, select how you want to start adding assignments.

  10. Click Create Course.

If you selected I want to look at ready-to-use assignments as a starting point, the available Course Pack assignments for your textbook are displayed. See Add Course Pack Assignments.

If your school should be billed for WebAssign access — common for high schools — set the student fee payment method for your new section to Bill Institution.
