Assignment Progress Not Displayed Correctly for Linked Accounts

Your work on assignments might not be submitted as expected if you have multiple student accounts enrolled in the same section and linked to each other. You might also see the section listed more than once.

This problem is not related to linking your Cengage and WebAssign accounts.


As a student, you should never have more than one account enrolled in the same course section. When those accounts are also linked with each other, your work might not be submitted with the account you expect.


Don't self-enroll more than once in the same course section.


  1. Unlink your student accounts.
  2. Contact Customer Support and ask which of your linked accounts you should use.
  3. Ask your instructor to drop your other account from the section.
  4. Optional: Re-link your student accounts.
