You can show or hide marks that show your students which questions they answered correctly. Marks include the following:
Mark | Meaning |
---|---|
![]() |
The submitted answer is correct. |
![]() |
The submitted answer is not correct. |
![]() |
The submitted answer is partially correct. Often, this means one of two things:
|
![]() |
The submitted answer is incorrect because it is based on incorrect values, but the calculation is valid. |
![]() |
The submitted answer is not correct, but credit was awarded for a previous submission. |
![]() |
The submitted answer might be correct or incorrect; more feedback is available when you click the mark. |
![]() |
The last submitted answer was correct, but the answer has been changed and has not been resubmitted. |
![]() |
The last submitted answer was not correct, but the answer has been changed and has not been resubmitted. |
When you allow multiple submissions, showing marks before the due date lets your students know which questions they need to try again. Showing marks after the due date lets your students know where they need more study or practice.
You can show or hide marks for the assignment or for specific questions. You can also choose to show marks before the due date only after students have made a certain number of submissions.
- If you choose to hide marks, you might want to let your students know you are doing this. Otherwise, your students might think that their responses were not submitted or that WebAssign is not working correctly.
- Marks are never shown for short answer, essay, file-upload, and Show My Work questions, since these are graded manually. Instead, you can show grader comments for these question types.
- Class Insights data are not shown for assignments when either correct/incorrect marks or scores are not shown to your students.
