Edit Scores for Assignments Added to GradeBook

You can edit scores that you added for assignments your students completed outside of WebAssign.

  1. Click Grades > Import Scores to GradeBook.
  2. Select I want to edit an existing assignment.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select the assignment you want to change.
  5. Optional: Click Edit, change the assignment information, and then click Save.
    Item Description
    Assignment Name How the assignment will be listed.
    Category Assignment category for GradeBook calculations.
    Description Optional description.
    Points How many points the assignment is worth.
    Due Assignment due date.
    Available to Students Whether the assignment scores are shown to students.
  6. Click Modify Scores.
  7. To edit scores in WebAssign:
    1. Select Enter scores for each student by hand.
    2. Click Next.
    3. Change assignment scores as needed.
  8. To upload or copy and paste new scores from a file:

    Under Download Current Scores:

    1. Select fullname or student number if you want to include this information.
    2. Select the file extension to use for the downloaded file.
    3. Click Download.

      The file is downloaded as a tab-separated text file with the filename extension you selected.

    4. Open the template file in your spreadsheet editor — both Excel and Google Sheets work well — and edit the assignment scores.
    5. Upload scores from the edited file as described in Upload Assignment Scores to GradeBook, or copy and paste scores as described in Copy and Paste Assignment Scores to GradeBook.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click Save.
