How Do I Get a WebAssign Account?If you sign in through your school's portal or a learning system such as Blackboard® or Canvas™, your WebAssign account is created automatically. If not, your instructor will either create your account for you or give you a Class Key to enroll and create your own account.What's the Difference Between an Access Code and a Class Key?You can use a Class Key from your instructor to enroll in the correct class section. You can use an Access Code to verify your purchase of WebAssign access. For many classes, you do not need either a Class Key or an Access Code.How Do I Buy an Access Code?Some new textbooks include access codes redeemable for access to WebAssign classes using that textbook. Certain schools might provide access codes for classes requiring WebAssign. If you do not already have an access code, purchasing access online is faster and easier, since you do not need to find the correct access code for your class.What Do I Do With a Class Key?If your instructor gave you a class key, use it to enroll in the WebAssign class. Go to https://webassign.net/login.html and click Enroll with Class Key. If needed, you can create a WebAssign account. If you don't have a class key, your instructor or school will enroll you automatically in the correct WebAssign class sections. How Do I Enter pi (π)?For most questions, including mathPad, calcPad®, and physPad®, type pi. For Show My Work, type \pi. Can I Purchase "Homework Only" Access Without the eBook?For some classes, you can choose whether or not to purchase eBook access. For other classes, the textbook publisher does not allow WebAssign to offer a "Homework Only" option.How Do I Get an Extension?If your instructor allows you to ask for extensions in WebAssign, open the assignment and click Request Extension. Customer Support can not help with extension requests.Can WebAssign Email Me If a Due Date Changes?You can set up email reminders for upcoming assignments, due date changes, and communications from your instructor. Click in the menu bar to set this up.How Do I Change My WebAssign Username?You can't change your username in WebAssign. If for some reason this is necessary, ask your instructor to create a new account for you and transfer your scores to the new account.How Do I Change My Student ID in WebAssign?You can't change or add your student ID to your account. Ask your instructor to do this for you.How Do I Change My Email Address in WebAssign?Change the email address for your linked Cengage account. Each time you sign in to WebAssign, your name and email address are updated to reflect the name and email address of your Cengage account.What happens to my existing WebAssign account?Nothing — except that you now sign in to WebAssign using your Cengage username and password.What if I already have a Cengage account?You can link your existing Cengage account to your WebAssign account.What if I sign in through an LMS like Blackboard or Canvas?You will continue to sign in through your LMS just as you do now.What happens to my access codes and purchases?Nothing — you'll continue to have access to the the classes and content you have purchased. Can I create a Cengage account without an email address?In most cases, you are required to use an email address as your Cengage username. There are situations, including accounts for K-12 students using NGLSync, when using an email address is not advisable or permitted. Some features, such as username recovery, password resets, and email notifications, can't be used without an email address associated with your account.Will I lose access to my course after my Cengage Unlimited subscription ends?You will have access to your course for 14 days after your Cengage Unlimited subscription ends. You cannot access other Cengage Unlimited features during this time.
