Granting Faculty Access

We have recently rolled out 2 improvements to granting additional faculty access to your classes.

The first is a redesign of the Access pop up window you get from the Course Edit page. Other faculty at your institution are now clearly delineated by their discipline. If you know the username of a faculty member you'd like to grant access to you may also look them up that way. You can even grant access to faculty at other institutions. One final improvmement to this page is that if you're working with a multi-section course you can grant access to all other sections at once.

We have also updated the creation of additional sections (for a multi-section class) to make it easier to give some faculty/TAs access to many or all sections at once.

To use this new functionality, you would just create the first section and then -- before adding additional sections -- set up the appropriate access for any instructors/TAs that will need to be involved with more than one section.

Then when you create each new section, there will be a checkbox (checked by default) which lets you easily grant that same access to some or all of the faculty you've associated with the initial section.

We hope that this change will be helpful in managing large multi-section classes with multiple faculty members or TAs.
