WebAssign is the leading service provider for online homework and quizzing delivery in higher education, specializing in math and the sciences. A relatively small company, WebAssign has been leading the field of online homework systems in innovation, responsiveness, and acceptance by higher education since its inception in 1997. Currently, the service is used by hundreds of thousands of students and teachers nationwide and internationally. WebAssign is a hosted system headquartered at North Carolina State's Centennial Campus in Raleigh, with servers located at MCNC in Research Triangle Park.

Senior Application Architect and Developer

WebAssign is seeking a local, full-time, Web Application Architect and technical department lead to join its cutting-edge web development team. Primary responsibilities include technical evaluation of product enhancements, as well as architecting, designing, and implementing new functionality within the WebAssign system. The candidate must have a B.S. (or equivalent) in computer science, along with 6 to 10 years of application development experience (in C/C++, Java, etc.) and demonstrated skills in Linux, Perl, and MySQL. Knowledge in web technologies (Apache, HTML, Mason, AJAX) an advantage. As department technical lead, the candidate must perform accordingly: be able to enhance and enforce good development cycle practices, documentation, and design patterns, as well as mentor and improve team members. The candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills, and good code documentation habits. Demonstrated critical-thinking, problem-solving, and goal-setting skills are required. Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment under tight resource and schedule restrictions preferred.

Mid-Level Application Developer

WebAssign is seeking a local, full-time, Web Application Developer to join its cutting-edge web development team. The candidate will lead other developers and must be able to enhance and enforce good development cycle practices and design patterns. Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment under tight resource and schedule restrictions preferred.

Full-Time / Part-Time Question Coders

WebAssign is seeking students who have taken college level physics, chemistry, and/or math courses to help code answer algorithms, test questions and scan images. Knowledge of introductory physics, chemistry and math required as well as computer, basic HTML, and excellent written and verbal skills. Should be a good problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-motivated. Must exercise good judgment, have a professional attitude, and work independently.
