IT Infrastructure Lead

The IT Infrastructure Support Lead is responsible for the reliable operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware infrastructure components in office and data center locations. Hands-on technical leadership of a small team responsible for ensuring all hardware SLAs are met throughout the organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of engineers and administrators to ensure all hardware throughout the organization is operating reliably and at peak levels of performance.
  • Assist in the design and engineering of future solutions that continue to meet and exceed the performance expectations of the business.
  • Proactively monitor all systems and respond quickly to alerts impacting performance or availability, ensuring SLAs are met.
  • Act as the escalation point for the Infrastructure/Systems team, functioning as technical lead to the team.
  • Collaborate closely with development and product organizations to ensure infrastructure services are delivered in line with business requirements and expectations.
  • Own, including participating in, 24x7 on-call process.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation on all new and existing systems.
  • Personnel management for the Systems/Infrastructure team: manage time off, resource utilization, scheduling priorities.
  • Own the Infrastructure team’s project portfolio and roadmap, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform other project-oriented tasks as assigned by management.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years configuring, managing, and troubleshooting HP ProCurve switches, F5 load balancers, Sun/Oracle ZFS storage appliances, Dell servers, Sun/Oracle servers, and various other hardware.
  • 3+ years supporting business-critical infrastructure in a 24x7 environment.
  • Strong experience with open source products and tools. Deep knowledge of Linux, FreeBSD, MySQL, Apache.
  • Experience leading a team of Systems/Infrastructure administrators with diverse backgrounds in a wide range of technical specialties.
  • Familiar with ITIL and Agile processes.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Customer-focused attitude and commitment to quality.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related area, or a combination of education and equivalent industry experience.
